If you’re setting up a family day care service in a rural or remote location, you may be eligible for up to $10,000 of financial support to help you save on establishment and set up costs through our incentive funding program.
This includes:
- Registration support (up to $2000) – to assist with Working with Children Checks, police clearances, first aid training, asthma and anaphylaxis qualifications, child protection and safe sleeping training to meet registration requirements.
- Establishment funding (up to $5000 or $7000) – to help with safety modifications, outdoor play equipment, cots, bedding, ICT tools, insurance and more. Educators who don’t require registration support may apply for up to $7000 total.
- Sustainability funding (from $1500) – available after 6 to 12 months of operating to help with ongoing costs such as insurance, subscriptions or accounting support.
Funding is available until 30 May 2026 to eligible applicants who are located within specific areas set by the Commonwealth’s targeted funding scheme. Payments are subject to availability of funds.
