The South Australian Suicide Prevention Grants provide funding to South Australian community groups and non-government organisations to support state suicide prevention projects and activities. The grants aim to prevent suicide in South Australia by building compassionate, safe and resilient communities through skill building, education and training.
Suicide is the number one cause of death for South Australians aged 15–44 years. While suicide is a complex issue and is often not preceded by a single event or condition, we recognise it is a preventable cause of death and creating caring, compassionate communities can help people to ask for and offer help.
Preventive Health SA is offering $5,000 grants to community groups and sporting clubs, and Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, across the state.
The focus of the 2025-26 Grants is suicide postvention preparedness with the aim of enhancing community support, coordination, and response following traumatic incidents, including suicides.
Applications are open now and will be assessed and awarded in order of submission until grant funds are exhausted or the closing date of 5.00 pm, Friday 31 October 2025.
