Youth Action Plan Life Skills grants

Applications are now open for a total of $250,000 in grants to help young people build essential life skills and transition to adulthood.

The Youth Action Plan (YAP) Life Skills Grants offer up to $15,000 to local councils, Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisations, not-for-profits and social enterprises working with young people in metropolitan and regional South Australia.

The funding will help create or expand programs that teach essential life skills, including:

  • Navigating government services (e.g., applying for birth certificates, Medicare cards, and Tax File Numbers)
  • Resume building, job applications, and interview preparation
  • Healthy lifestyle choices, nutrition, and the impact of diet
  • Financial literacy, budgeting, and debt management
  • Practical skills such as car maintenance, meal prep, and basic home upkeep
  • Learner’s license driving programs for young people from priority groups.

The round is open between 9 April 2025 at 9:00 am and 4 June 2025 at 3.00 pm.
