Goyder’s Line Medical – Peterborough
Member for Stuart, Hon Geoff Brock MP is very concerned by the recent announcement of the closure of Goyder’s Line Medical in Peterborough.
Rural communities, like Peterborough, deserve to have reliable access to GP services to address all their health needs.
The provision of doctors in our communities is a shared responsibility, but mainly the Federal Government.
Geoff has written to both the State and Federal Governments expressing his concerns.
In his correspondence to the Federal Minister for Health and Ageing, Hon Mark Butler MP, Geoff requested a round table discussion to address the future provision of GP services in Peterborough.
The round table discussion should consist of both State and Federal Health Ministers, the Mayor, The CEO of the Yorke and Northern Local Health Network, the presiding member of the local Health Advisory Council and the Federal Member for Grey.
Geoff is very concerned with the lack of Medical GP’s serving in regional areas and recognises the urgent need for a solution to ensure that regional people have the same access to medical GPs as those living in metropolitan areas.
Geoff is awaiting a response from the Federal Health Minister.
