Today is #WorldLungCancerDay.
For the first time, Australians with a high risk of developing lung cancer can now access free screening covered by Medicare, thanks to the launch of the National Lung Cancer Screening Program. When lung cancer is caught early, patients have access to less invasive and more effective treatments, increasing the likelihood of recovery.
This new Program is expected to save 12,000 lives over the next decade!
To learn more about the program and eligibility, talk to your GP, call the Lung Foundation Australia Helpline on 1800 654 301 or for more information visit their website on https://lungfoundation.com.au/protect-your-lungs/national-lung-cancer-screening-program/
