I had the great pleasure of visiting Coober Pedy over the weekend of the 1st and 2nd of November and hosting a Listening Post.

Across two days, I spoke one on one with more than 30 locals to better understand the issues and opportunities in the community.

I met with representatives from the RSL, Miners Association, tourism operators, local businesses, the Community Alliance Association, and the Shooters Club. The conversations were insightful and highlighted the strong community spirit in Coober Pedy.

A special thanks to the Shooters Club members for showing me the correct stance and technique for holding a firearm. It was purely a demonstration; no shots were fired by me!
