Yesterday I had the pleasure of addressing the Local Government Association of South Australia's AGM.
The Government has made a lot of progress on the State/Local Government Economic Partnership Accord. This will enable both levels of government to work more closely in identifying and accelerating economic development in South Australia.
I also reiterated my commitment to the Local Government Advice Scheme, even though some councils remain unsupportive of this initiative. The intent of the scheme is to increase trust and confidence in councils’ financial sustainability through the transparent release of information by the Essential Services Commission of SA.
Finally, I spoke about the Local Government Participation and Elections Review, which you can find out more about here: www.yoursay.sa.gov.au/council-participation-elections
