RETAILER ENERGY PRODUCTIVITY SCHEME (REPS)

The Retailer Energy Productivity Scheme (REPS) is a South Australian Government energy efficiency scheme that provides incentives for SA households and businesses to save energy and money.

It does this through establishing energy productivity targets to be met by electricity and gas retailers.

The REPS scheme commenced in 2021 to replace the previous program called the Retailer Energy Efficiency Scheme, that provided energy efficiency products for the commercial and residential sector.

The REPS is designed to reduce peak demand energy consumption and create a more flexible and dynamic energy market for South Australian residents and businesses. It does this by creating incentives for energy consumers to upgrade their energy consuming appliances like air conditioning and hot water systems to more efficient models at low or no cost through accredited service providers.
